General Pest Technician Course Units
The General Pest Technician Course incorporates the three units of competency required for general pest management licensing by most licensing departments (excluding WA and the ACT). These units are Nationally Recognised Training products and can be used towards gaining your Certificate III in Urban Pest Management.

Assessment Requirements
Theory Assessment
As you progress through your online training, your knowledge base will be assessed using a range of interactive online quizzes and short answer questions.
Practical Assessments
- Digital Portfolio: You'll pull together everything you have learnt by conducting chemical and non-chemical pest management treatments at three real worksites. Evidence is collected using video media or face to face with your trainer.
- Digital Logbook: You will then complete 7 pest management treatments at real worksites under the direct supervision of your chosen supervisor. Digital logbook tools help streamline this process and weekly debriefs with your trainer and assessor and supervisor ensure a supportive learning environment whilst on the job.
- Supervisor's Checklist: You must also demonstrate your knowledge of legislated requirements for pest control vehicles. Your supervisor will mark off your competence on our digital checklist.
Course Entry Requirements
- Meet Licensing Requirements: Complete the Prerequisite Check and Declaration.
- Be employed in a pest control company: You'll need access to real work sites, equipment, materials, pest management vehicle and a valid supervisor to complete practical assessments.
- Unique Student Identifier: You will need to provide or obtain a USI.
- Conduct a Language Literacy and Numeracy test: We want to ensure we can promote a positive learning experience and adequately support your training. This test allows us to determine we have the right level of support for you.
