General Pest Technician Course Units

The General Pest Technician Course incorporates the three units of competency required for general pest management licensing by most licensing departments (excluding WA and the ACT). Practical Assessments

  • Digital Portfolio: Your employees demonstrate their skills by conducting chemical and non-chemical pest management treatments at three real customer sites. Evidence is collected via video or direct observation.
  • Digital Logbook: Employees complete 7 pest management treatments at real worksites under supervision. Your designated supervisor validates all digital entries. Weekly debriefs ensure consistent progress and quality standards.
  • Supervisor's Checklist: Your employees demonstrate knowledge of vehicle and equipment requirements. Your supervisor validates competence via our digital checklist, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

What Your Employees Need to Start

Pre-Enrolment Requirements

Ensure your employees complete these steps before enrolment for a smooth training experience:

1. Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Each employee needs a USI to receive their qualification. They can create one free at usi.gov.au using 100 points of ID.

2. Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLND) Assessment

Employees complete a quick online assessment so we can provide appropriate learning support.

Business Requirements

  • Licensed Business: Your trainee must be employed by your business.
  • Qualified Supervisor: You'll need to designate a licensed supervisor from your team to validate practical competencies and sign off on digital logbook entries for each trainee.
  • State Licensing Compliance: Employees must complete our Prerequisite Check to ensure they meet your state's specific licensing requirements before starting.
